Your source for what's new at Mizzou Libraries
This summer we closed our individual study rooms for an update. We got rid of the old tables and shelves to make them more spacious.
There’s brand new paint, carpet, and door handles for a fresh look. We also added in new adjustable desk to each room. These desks are fully adjustable making it easier to fit the study area to your preference, making them more accessible to all of our students.
The improvements were paid with funds from the Enhance Mizzou Fee.
Over the summer, Ellis Library added new adjustable desks in Room 202 and in many of the individual study rooms.

We also added in new power outlets and lamps into 202.

Solstice monitors are now available in some study rooms in Ellis Library and the Health Sciences Library.
These monitors make it easier to share your screens (laptops, tablets, and phones) for better group collaboration.

You asked and we delivered!
We’ve updated some of the group study rooms in Ellis Library, in addition to a few upgrades in the study rooms at the Health Sciences Library.
Thanks to the Enhance Mizzou fee for the Libraries and DoIT, some of our group study rooms have new:
A more recent addition are our new solstice monitors for easier group collaboration. All you have to do is connect to TigerWifi on a laptop or an apple device, and once set up, you can start screen sharing instantly.
Looking for a place to store your items and charge your phone? Personal storage lockers with USB chargers are available in Ellis Library, next to the elevators on the main floor.
These lockers are free to use, but a Mizzou TigerCard (MU ID) is required for access. These lockers were purchased with funds from the Enhance Mizzou student fee.

Ellis Library recently completed their furniture restoration project thanks to the Enhance Mizzou Fee.
This project started back in 2018 when the Enhance Mizzou Fee was first instated and was completed ahead of schedule.
What was restored and refurbished?
Restoring these furniture pieces brought them back to their original condition.

We recently reconfigured Room 115 as our new lounge area, located by the north entrance and behind the safety desk.
With plenty of natural light and various types of furniture, you will be sure to find the best space for all your studying needs.

Need research help? You can ask a librarian for help using our chat service– almost 24 hours a day.
During the day you can chat with Mizzou librarians and library staff. At night, we offer access to a chat reference service called ChatStaff. They will be able to answer most research questions, except for some that are Mizzou-specific.

Last summer, we started the process of removing the old information desk to create a new student space. Throughout the year, we’ve asked for student input from what they’d like to see in the space to voting on specific furniture types.
We are happy to announce that the new comfy seating area is finally up and running! A good portion of the new furniture was delivered and we are finalizing the setup of the new lounge area, so don’t be surprised if you see different iterations of the space in the coming weeks.
