Watch for Door-To-Door Census Takers Now Through July
Non-Response Follow-Up (NRFU) is the phase of the census when Census takers go door-to-door to visit households that did not return the 2010 Census questionnaire. NRFU started on May 1 across the country; it should conclude in mid-July.
Census takers will:
- show their official ID
- never ask to enter a home
- only ask the questions on the 2010 Census form
- never ask for a Social Security number or banking information
If Missourians want to confirm that the person who has come to their door is in fact employed by the Census Bureau, they can call the Kansas City Regional Census Center at (816) 994-2000.
