Illumination: f 1v: full page with large gilt border with flowers and insects, miniature of Christ and God the Father crowning the Virgin Mary in heaven, with the Spanish royal family kneeling in prayer in a landscape below, “Don Felipe” [Philip II] inscribed in the border . Large coat of arms on the bottom third of the page. f 2r: Large gilt border with flowers, peacock, and other elements; large initial P with Christ emerging from the tomb; vignette in bottom border with St. James on a white horse with a sword, trampling the severed head and arm of an enemy. Borders and initials scattered throughout. F 46r: portrait initial of Philip II seated on a throne and gesturing toward the text; lower border has large vignettes of the four evangelists. Includes a transcribed copy of a carta ejecutoria for Francisco de Godoy dated 15 December 1534.
