Congratulations to Paula Roper, who has been designated Librarian Emerita III, to honor and recognize the many contributions” she made during her career at MU.
Larry Dietzel has renewed his Peace Officer license and is returning to law enforcement duties. His last day with the Libraries will be Mon, Sep 22. If you would like to wish him well, please stop by Admin Office between 11am-12pm on Mon morning.
Please join us in wishing Gabe Harman well as he departs Mizzou for a new adventure. We’ll have bagels and coffee/tea starting at 9:00 AM on Tuesday 9/16 in the Journalism Library Conference Room, room 102A. Reception will end by 11:30.
“A rivalry unlike any other’: Renewal of MU-KU rivalry extends beyond the football field”

Mizzou Libraries have added a more traditional catalog option to our homepage. Simply called “Catalog,” the link is located directly below the Discover@MU search box. The Catalog is ideal for users who want to search our physical format collections or prefer traditional browsing functionality. It will also be used to access information about physical items on Reserve at our service desks. You can access the Catalog here.
Additionally, the Catalog makes it easier for users to renew multiple University of Missouri items at once. Please note that MOBIUS loans cannot be renewed through the Catalog.
Importantly, the Catalog does not replace Discover@MU. Discover@MU remains the best tool for broad searches across our physical and online collections, including MOspace, the Digital Library, and more.
We will be hosting our annual Ellis Library Open House after the Homecoming Parade on Sept. 27. The event will probably be from 10 a.m. to noon, and we will also need some help with setup starting around 9 a.m. It’s always a fun event; we provide snacks and drinks, plus family-friendly activities, such as button-making and decorating mini pumpkins.
If you can help out (please check with your supervisor first), please let me know by the end of this week. If you do help out, you may choose if you want overtime pay or comp time.
