Coming Soon: Symptom Check Required to Access Ellis Library and Other Buildings on Campus
MU has made the decision to require symptom checks through the #CampusClear app in order to enter some buildings on campus. The complete list of buildings hasn’t been made public, but Ellis Library will be one of the buildings. We believe the Rec Center and the Student Unions will also have this requirement. The campus-wide implementation is underway, and Kathy Peters is working with SOS staffing services to manage the screening station, which will be at the west entrance. Although a date hasn’t been confirmed, this will probably start at the beginning of October. All patrons and staff will be screened during all normal business hours of Ellis Library. Staff who come in when the library is not open to the public will not be screened, but remember that supervisors are allowed to ask you if you have checked your symptoms. If someone chooses not to use the #CampusClear app, there will be an alternative symptom check method.
We will keep you updated as we receive further information about this new procedure. In the meantime, you should download the app and check your symptoms daily.

Goodbye to Lindsay Yungbluth
Here’s a big, fond farewell for Lindsay Yungbluth. Lindsay tells us that she “is relocating to North Carolina, where she looks forward to being closer to her brother and to the seaside and ocean (that “big, blue, wet thing“). She will be missed more than we can say! Good luck on all your future adventures, Lindsay!
July 4th Holiday Policy
Because the 4th of July is on a Saturday this year, Friday July 3rd is the paid holiday. Staff should not work that day.
The following days have been designated as official University holidays: New Year’s Day, Martin Luther King Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and the Friday following, Christmas Day, and other days as may be designated by the President. Holidays are considered to extend over a 24-hour period. When a holiday falls on Saturday, the preceding Friday is observed. When a holiday falls on Sunday, the following Monday is observed. Official holidays occurring during a vacation period are not counted against vacation time.
Cogratulations to Renita Richmond
Please help me wish Renita Richmond, our long time LIA in Health Sciences, a fond farewell as she heads off into retirement. Renita’s retirement starts today, so we won’t get to have a formal send off. Renita has been an absolute gem to work with and has been the rock holding tech services at HSL together for many years. We are very happy for her but very very sad for us.
Renita, we will miss you so much!
