Music Discovery

Magazines focusing on music discovery assisted music enthusiasts in discovering new artists and albums. In conjunction with popular musical variety shows and programs throughout the twentieth century, such as the Ed Sullivan Show, which introduced the Beatles to America, or MTV, which played a continuous stream of music videos, these magazines were an access point for music fans across all kinds of genres to find new artists to listen to.

Revolution

This edition of Revolution was published in August of 2000. It features singer Madonna on the front cover as well as text declaring dance music as the new Rock music and the internet as a replacement for MTV. Contents include tracklists for the two free CDs that would have been included with the magazine, including music by popular musicians such as Whitney Houston, P!nk, and TLC. Additionally, there are articles covering music gear, the Clash, Sega, and more. Included are interviews with A:xus, Femi Kuti, Gilles Peterson, among other musicians.
