African Bridal Magazines

Similar to South Asian Bridal magazines, African Bridal magazines showcase the customs across Africa for brides looking to combine tradition and trend. Even though these magazines are based in North America, they aim to highlight trends specific to Africa.

Munaluchi Bridal Magazine, Premiere Issue 2009

Munaluchi Bridal Magazine debuted its premiere issue in 2009 as a bridal magazine focusing on the interests of African diasporic brides. Founder Jacqueline Nwobu was inspired to create Munaluchi after noticing that the culturally diverse weddings she professionally photographed were not often reflected in mainstream bridal magazines (She Leads Africa, n.d.). The title, Munaluchi, comes from a combination of two African names that together mean “beautiful work of God” (Munaluchi Bride, n.d.). This inaugural issue has over 50 pages of wedding inspiration, including ideas for traditional weddings, receptions, and honeymoon destinations in Africa.
