Gary Cox, after 21 years of service to the MU Libraries and the University of Missouri, will retire from his position as Reference and Public Services Archivist in University Archives. Monday, August 12th will be Gary’s last day in the office.

Ellis Library Electrical Work
Ellis Library will have some electrical panels replaced next week starting with the investigative work on Tuesday, August 13. These panels are located near the twin elevators and in the sub-basement. After that, we will have an electrical outage on Friday night, August 16, starting after 7:00 pm with the power back up before 9:00 am on Saturday, August 17. They will do another electrical shutdown on Saturday night, August 17, at 7:00 pm and be back online by 9:00 am on Sunday, August 18. Please shut down your workstations on Tuesday (8/13), Friday (8/16) and Saturday (8/17) at the end of the work day.

SAG Vice Chair Vacancy
SAG is seeking a vice chair! This is a two-year appointment: one year as vice chair, and one year as chair. The vice chair assists the chair in setting the agenda and runs meetings if the chair is absent. This is not a large time commitment, and it is a great way to get involved in the libraries.

Special Collections Update
The MU Libraries wish Kelli Hansen good luck with her new position at Cornell University. While we work to hire a new Head of Special Collections, we thank John Henry Adams, Michaelle Dorsey and Anselm Huelsbergen for providing interim assistance with Kelli’s responsibilities.
