Artist Statement

This series was documented during the Blue Moon lunar event that occurred on August 31, 2023. This phenomenon is documented in a way that aims to challenge the conventions of traditional documentary Photography by rejecting the impulse to capture the climactic event and instead using it as a condition to inform the work and observe indirectly. It considers the Blue Moon and its relationship to the landscape to be as extraordinary as the phenomenon itself.
