Description

Manuscript on vellum and paper containing the executive lawsuit raised in Granada between Mr. Juan Alonso Fernández de Silva and Mr. Gaspar de Cuellar, merchant of the city of Granada. Mr. Fernández de Silva says he is imprisoned by the demand of Mr. Gaspar de Cuellar, and also argues that he is a nobleman and that therefore he goes to his jurisdiction to respond to the bond required by the merchant to get out of jail.

Illustrated with two polychrome miniatures in full page with the portraits of Mr. Juan Alonso Fernández and his wife Doña Isabel de la Paz before the Virgin and the child Jesus. The other miniature collects the image of the Apostle Santiago on horseback and the petitioner's coat of arms. Both miniatures are signed by Fray Diego del Pozo.

The manuscript is housed in a contemporary Baroque style binding, with squared wheels and vases accompanied by an assortment of botanical elements.
