Editorial Cartoons Syndicate Proofs Collection, 1970-1998.

Title

Editorial Cartoons Syndicate Proofs Collection, 1970-1998.

Extent

2.75 linear feet.

Description

Currently includes works from Cartoonists & Writers’ Syndicate, North America Syndicate, Inc., and United Feature Syndicate.
Syndication is the distribution of news articles, features, columns, comic strips and editorial cartoons to various media outlets such as newspapers, magazines, and websites. The syndicate itself is a company which has copyright and permissions for publishing from journalists, writers, illustrators, and cartoonists. The syndicate grants content, at a price, to smaller media outlets which may not have the funding for a full staff of content creators. This may be referred to as print syndication via a press syndicate, feature syndicate or newspaper syndicate. Editorial cartoons specifically will focus on national and global issues, as local issues are not typically of interest to the national market.
