Office Décor

A common form of creative expression in an office environment is desk décor. Whether it be family photos, posters, knick-knacks, or crafts, desk décor brings personality to a space that could otherwise be a bit dreary.

In 52 Ellis, my own desk décor consists primarily of family photos, but it also includes a handmade Kusudama ball from my wedding (see my previous post about book crafts) and motivational hedgehog artwork.

Upstairs in room 168, Rachel Brekhus has been busy decorating her new space. She is especially excited about the window, which is something that her former office didn't have. Rachel has also brought the outdoors inside by hanging photos (originally from a calendar) of Germany's Hainich National Park from floor to ceiling.

Across campus in the Zalk Veterinary Medical Library, animal décor is popular! Appropriately so, for as Shelly McDavid shares, "It is not uncommon for us to occasionally hear a cat or dog in the locker room, which is on the other side of the wall in the back of our office space." Dogs, cats, and other animals can be found gracing the posters, comics, knick-knacks, and (of course) books in Laura Buck's work area.
