The Polar Express – LHRA Drill Team Style

Lionheart Riding Academy is a local lesson barn specializing in Saddleseat riding. LHRA students consist almost entirely of kids, but adults are welcome as well. Over the last few years, LHRA riders have started a new tradition of putting on a holiday performance that includes all three of their drill teams. This year, the performance takes place December 8th at 5:00 p.m.
This is not just watching horses trot around an arena doing a few patterns and calling it quits. This is a bit more like a musical play done on horseback with narration to tell the story and lighting effects to add to the performance.
It will also be, unless something major changes, the last time this performance is held at the current location. They will be moving very soon and we will just have to wait to see what that means for this performance next year.
In the meantime, if you are interested in watching the show, please bring along your favorite methods of staying warm (scarves, mittens, hand warmers, etc.) and maybe chairs just in case. The majority of the seating is outside which isn’t a problem because the barn has big, wide doors.

Columbia Mall Holiday Makers Market

No matter where you are at in your holiday shopping, this is a great event to get in on. Last year’s vendors consisted of a range of local shops to smaller, more individual companies. Just a few examples of what were on sale last year: articulated 3D printed objects, foods, books, and sewn items. The holiday market is on Nov. 17th from 10:00-3:00.
