Columbia Mall Holiday Makers Market

No matter where you are at in your holiday shopping, this is a great event to get in on. Last year’s vendors consisted of a range of local shops to smaller, more individual companies. Just a few examples of what were on sale last year: articulated 3D printed objects, foods, books, and sewn items. The holiday market is on Nov. 17th from 10:00-3:00. Creative Library Cards

Some libraries are taking their designs up a notch for special runs of library cards. The reasons behind these cards vary. They are used to celebrate their communities, bring attention to such things as most checked out book, honor special dates, or any number of other reasons. To find out more about limited edition library cards please visit this site: https://www.libraryjournal.com/story/get-em-while-theyre-hot-limited-edition-library-cards.
If you do an image search on Google there are even more cards to find out there.

Thank you to Tammy Green (Heart of Missouri Master Gardeners) for bringing these events to my attention as well.

Missouri Chestnut Roast Festival

Tammy Green (Heart of Missouri Master Gardeners) brought this one to my attention. I attended last year and had a great time. They have different things you can try and most of the plants I remember seeing there aren’t the type I find at Walmart. I have no idea what they will have this year, but especially if you want a tree, this is worth visiting. The staff were very informative and happy to answer questions. The event happens on Oct. 19th from 10:00-3:00 at the MU Horticulture and Agroforestry Research Farm.
