It was great to see so many folks from MU at the MOBIUS conference earlier this week. The MOBIUS conference, held each year, is a local, free opportunity to network and learn. In addition to MOBIUS and Innovative updates, as well as training opportunities, librarians and library staff from around the state give presentations on a variety of topics. The meals are great and there are chances to win raffle prizes too. This year’s MU presenters included:
- Freddy Martinez-Garcia, Jr., along with two colleagues from the MOBIUS Courier/Circulation Committee, co-presented “From a Bed to a Library Near You. Bedbugs!” The presentation discussed best practices that are shared in a new document “Bed Bug Information and Best Practices.”
- Jeannette Pierce and Grace Atkins presented “Leading Open Educational Resource Initiatives” sharing our experience with facilitating campus collaboration on OER at Mizzou.
- Felicity Dykas led a panel presentation titled “Digital Collections in Missouri.” Panelists from Saint Louis University, Truman State University, UMSL, and Lincoln University participated.
- Felcity also presented on "What's Coming in Cataloging."
- Amanda Sprochi hosted a lunch time interest table called "RDA and the FRBR LRM."
Calls for presentations usually go out in the spring semester. This year they were due in February.
