Information and Action Items from Library Management Team meeting 8/20/13

Attending: Mike Holland, Jeannette Pierce, Deb Ward, Ann Riley and Jim Cogswell.  Support: Mark Ellis

Information Item:  LMT discussed various Library positions, their funding and placement in the staffing priorities list.  An updated staffing priorities list will be completed and distributed soon.

Information Item:  LMT discussed the Graduate Study Carrels and the impact of the long range plans of room 202 Ellis Library, including a move of University Archives into Ellis Library following the Renew Mizzou project in 2015.   Portions of the West Stacks (where 27 carrels are currently located) will need to be closed to house material from Archives currently stored in Lewis Hall.  This will reduce the number of graduate carrels in Ellis to 38.  Discussion ensued about how to reallocate space for additional carrels or possibly to discontinue the service of offering them. More discussion and research on the topic will take place in the near future.
