We concentrate on the whole individual: physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually; with exhibitors from the campus and the community. Representatives share information about exercise and fitness, women's support organizations, cancer prevention and treatment, healthcare, nutrition, public health, recreation, and much more. Tools for Breaking the Glass Ceiling
Tools for Breaking the Glass Ceiling is intended to provide a professional development opportunity for women aspiring to positions of leadership. This Q&A session features MU women leaders who have successfully “broken the glass ceiling” and gives attendees the opportunity to ask questions about career advice, planning and mentorship, as well as hear from panelists own experiences. Tools for Breaking the Glass Ceiling is open to all students, faculty and staff, aiming to create an open forum in which the campus community can come together to discuss how gender can impact career choice and environments, as well as such obstacles might be overcome. The inaugural session of the panel attracted over 50 students, faculty and staff.

A 15th-century book of hours from Venice, Italy has been digitized and is now available in the MU Digital Library. Books of hours would have been familiar to most members of the middle and upper classes by the late Middle Ages. These devotional books have as their central text the Little Office of the Blessed Virgin, a shortened version of the daily cycle of Christian devotions called the Divine Office. This book of hours also includes more specialized prayers and litanies relating to the Virgin Mary. The original, which was possibly made as early as 1450, is in the Ellis Library Special Collections Department. It is about 3.7 inches in height and is 330 pages long.
In addition to papers and presentations from MU faculty, students, and staff, MOspace now includes many MU publications issued by departments. Recently, the Cambio Center Collection was greatly expanded. The MU Cambio Center, as noted on their website, "leads research and outreach on Latinos and changing communities.” In MOspace, you will find conference papers, eBriefs, and other Cambio Center publications. The University Libraries will continue to work with the Cambio Center to add new publications to MOspace.

Thank you to everyone who participated in Mizzou Giving Day and to those that helped with the marketing through social media. The day was a success, to say the least. When the online portion of the event came to a close, Mizzou had raised $8,295,842 from 3,590 gifts! Counting will continue until 5:00 today and a final number will be released sometime next week.
The library had 116 gifts totaling $69,277. Two additional gifts will be included in our final total, taking the library number to about $115,000!! All gifts were cash or stock, no estate gifts or other deferred gifts. That is a huge cash number for the Libraries!
You can see how we stacked up with other units here: https://givingday.missouri.edu/challenges.aspx
This was an exceptional result for our first ever “Giving Day.” I know University Libraries will build on this success and surpass these numbers next year. Thanks again to everyone that participated.
Cheers!
Matt
