Michael K. Honey Presents A Sharecropper’s Troubadour

Honey, an award-winning distinguished professor, recounts the life of John Handcox, his work as an organizer for the Southern Tenant Farmers’ Union, and songs he used to tell the stories of laborers badly in need of an organization to negotiate on their behalf. Honey provides an unusual
lecture format by combining the narrative, based on oral history, with an accompanying musical performance.

MU Distinguished Librarian Curator of the Medical and Veterinary Historical Collections C. Trenton Boyd received the Missouri Veterinary Medical Foundation's Distinguished Service Award at an awards banquet held during their annual convention in St. Charles, MO on Jan. 22-25. The award was presented to Trenton "With gratitude, for creative initiative and undying determination in service to the Foundation's goals."

INFORMATION ITEM: Cyndi Curnutte, from MU Design Services, joined LMT to talk about the space component of the Student Fee Proposal. Cyndi will try to get a reasonable cost estimate back to the Library by February 2nd.
Congratulations to Sandy Schiefer! She’s been awarded an ACRL 2015 Early-career Librarian scholarship:

Darell Schmick has accepted a position of Research Librarian at the University of Utah Eccles Health Sciences Library. His last day is Tuesday, February 17th. We wish him well in his new position.
