Information and Action Items for Library Management Team 1/20/15

Information ITEM:  LMT and Matt Gaunt discussed various issues related to the Student Library Fee Proposal. Some of the issues discussed were:

  • The proposal will suggest a $5 per credit hour fee that will increase to $15 per credit hour over 6 years instead of 5.
  • If a library fee is put in place after a student vote, it would be considered a Student Activity Fee and be subject to the Student Fee Review Committee (SFRC) for further increases. But only after it was fully implemented.
  • LMT agrees it needs to share the final proposal to MULAC and staff as soon as possible.

INFORMATION ITEM: Cyndi Curnutte, from MU Design Services, joined LMT to talk about the space component of the Student Fee Proposal. Cyndi will try to get a reasonable cost estimate back to the Library by February 2nd.
