The Acquisitions Institute at Timberline Lodge has accepted Amy Lana’s paper “Monographic titles cited in faculty-authored works” as one of 12 papers to be presented during the 2013 Institute. From the abstract: A study of monographic titles cited in faculty-authored works was conducted in 2010 by the University of Colorado (CU) Libraries; the University of Missouri (MU) Libraries agreed to replicate the study in response to a call by the authors. This paper will present the results from the MU Libraries study, which shows interesting variances from the original study, especially in the areas of acquisition method and type and age of the resources used. Additional data collected on holdings within the MU Libraries’ consortium provides insight into whether a shared collection policy might serve the needs of the various libraries.
Due to decreased campus demand, the MU Student, Faculty and Staff Telephone Directory will no longer be printed. Extra copies of the 2012–13 directory, distributed last October, may be purchased from Printing Services. To look up phone numbers and addresses for faculty, staff and departments, use the campus online directories. They contain the most accurate, up-to-date information. Follow these online instructions to update personal information or update department information.

Dear all,
We are gearing up for another year of Recyclemania. Recyclemania is a friendly competition between 600 other universities and colleges to have the highest recycling tonnage and waste minimization per capita. Collection begins February 3rd and runs for eight weeks until March 30th. During this time we hope to increase recycling participation and awareness throughout campus. We are collecting the usual cardboard, paper, bottles and cans.
Thanks for all your help. You can let me know if you have any further questions about Recyclemania. Mid-April I will send an e-mail with our recycling results and rankings among other colleges.

2012 brought to a close the initial 5-year charter period that HathiTrust was granted by its founding institutions. 5 years later, the collaborative is stronger than ever. More than 70 academic and research institutions from around the world participate in HathiTrust, supporting a digital repository of 10.6 million volumes and a host of shared activities, all geared toward the provision of greater access to the scholarly and cultural record, more secure preservation, and greater research opportunities for our constituencies than we have ever had before. As we launch into a new year, and a new stage of HathiTrust, it is worthwhile to reflect on our progress and achievements in 2012. These include:
• A significant legal victory and affirmation of Fair Use in the case of Authors Guild v. HathiTrust
• Many new partners and a new governance structure
• A steady stream of technological improvements and enhancements
• Development of new services and infrastructure
• Continued engagement with our community in the form of presentations, discussions, and the HathiTrust Research Center Uncamp
A recap of activities in these areas and more can be read in the review on our website:

Best wishes,
