Step-by-step Instructions for faculty on how to integrate several types of library resources into Blackboard, created by the Library Instruction Committee, have now been updated for Blackboard 9. Will McCrary of the Math Sciences Library assisted the committee by taking new screenshots and placing the instructions in a Libguide, available at https://libraryguides.missouri.edu/blackboard. Feel free to share with professors, instructors and assistants working on Blackboard.
Microsoft now offers enrollment in the Software Assurance Home Use Program (HUP) to University employees. Under HUP, you may purchase Microsoft Office Professional Plus. The software is for personal use and has no restrictions to any work at home policies. The license is good as long as you are a University employee.
A digital download costs just $9.95. You may also purchase a backup disc (includes packaging, shipping, and handling) for an additional $12.95. The license is valid as long as you are a University employee.
To request a copy, log on to My Services and follow all instructions. https://myservices.missouri.edu/

Each month, HR will be presenting information about the changes in the MU benefit and in the retirement plan to the Board of Curators. See the link below for access to live streaming video of the meetings, meeting documents, PowerPoint slides, minutes and archived audio. I would encourage everyone to listen to the archived audio and to the PowerPoint slides from the Sept. 23, 2010 meeting where there was discussion about the retirement plan and about the cost increases in the medical plan:

This second link is a discussion at the St Louis campus about the recent MU Benefits survey. This same PowerPoint presentation was given at the Department Heads Retreat last August, the HR talk on Election Day, and at the Faculty Council meeting earlier this month. It provides clues on what we might see happen to MU benefits in the next few years.
