Eat for Life Program-NOW ENROLLING
Discover the benefits of this innovative approach to weight management.  This ten week program uses mind-body practices (meditations and yoga), the principles of mindful and intuitive eating, skills training, and group support to guide you in making lifestyle changes that will help you create a healthier relationship to your food, mind, and body. If you have a history of chronic dieting, have rigid “healthy” rules about eating, or find yourself eating when you’re stressed, bored, or unhappy, this may be the program for you.

  • In person orientation will be Tuesday, Sept. 7 from 12-1 p.m. and classes meet Sept. 14-Nov. 16 from 12 – 1p.m.  Cost is $50 with a $25 rebate for participation in 9 of the 10 classes.
  • Online orientation start the week of Sept. 20 and the class starts the week of Sept. 27 and runs through week of Nov. 29.  Cost is $50 with a $25 rebate for participation in 9 of the 10 classes.

Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction ProgramThe Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction Program is an 8 week class that teaches skills for responding to stress with greater skill and creativity using formal mindfulness skills (meditation, yoga, body scan) and information about stress, communication, and wellness. Participants will be expected to engage in daily practice exercises outside of class. Orientation: Sept. 14 from 5:30-7 p.m.; Class: Tuesdays, Sept. 21-Nov. 9 from 5:30-7:30 p.m.; Full day retreat on Saturday, Nov. 6 from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. The cost is $40($20 refunded if you attend 7 of 8 classes). Weight Watchers Open House: University Hospital
Join Weight Watchers at University Hospital on Sept. 8th in room M586 from 11:45 a.m.-12:45 p.m. No need for pre-registration, just show up! This 13-week series is open to everyone and costs $156. Faculty & Staff who miss no more than once receive a 25% rebate through Healthy for Life. Payment options are available–cash, check or credit card. Primary Group Exercise Certification and Yoga Training
Interested in becoming certified to be an exercise or yoga trainer? Classes are available through the Aerobics and Fitness Association of America (AFAA) and YogaFit.  Please see the flyer in the staff lounge.
