Some of you may have noticed the new vending machine near the north entrance of Ellis Library. This machine will contain school/office supplies for our users to purchase. It is currently empty, but should be full sometime next week. Stay tuned for further details.

Thanks – I just asked Cathy about it, having just seen the machine standing there. The sooner staff hears about these things, the better – it’s even okay to send a mass email about things like this rather than even waiting for News Notes, because we need to not be 100% clueless when patrons ask us about it. I was on the desk just now, and not having seen the machine before I walked to the north restroom after my desk hour, I would have had no idea that there was a machine there and if a patron had asked “what’s that empty vending machine going to sell,” I would have had no idea what they were talking about, which makes the library look like the left hand does not know what the right hand is doing. Even just a little information is good to know.
That said…YAY, we’re getting a vending machine!!! That’s awesome news!!!
