How do you prefer to get through a book? Some people are diehard readers, some exclusively listeners, and then there are some of us that will do whichever is available at the moment because patience was never meant to be applied to waiting to see what happens next! Then there’s immersion reading where you read and listen at the same time. You can learn about this here: https://bookriot.com/what-is-immersion-reading/ . I have also seen this method recommended as a useful tool for learning foreign languages as well.
