The Boone County Fair is back on July 18th and will be here through July 22nd.  There is going to be something for everyone, from rides and games to shows and live music, and plenty of food and drinks to go around. Are you looking for something new to read but don’t know where to start? The Daniel Boone Public Library has the event for you. They are putting on a book tasting night where you will get the chance to read samples from different genres and discuss it with your fellow book tasters. Fire in the Sky will be back at Stephens Lake Park this year. There is going to be live music, food trucks, and activities for children starting at 6:30pm. The night will end with the fireworks show starting at 9:15pm. This should last 20-25 minutes and will truly light up the sky. For more information check out the link.

Columbia Entertainment Co. is putting on musical Sister Act. After witnessing a murder, Deloris Van Cartier must go into witness protection as a nun. However, the strict rules and Mother Superior are at odds with Deloris’s more boisterous self. But, when she joins the choir, she is able to use her amazing singing talent, along with her unique disco moves to reinvigorate the church and community.

Saturday Morning Science is back at Ragtag Cinema. Join Dr. Linda Godwin, retired NASA astronaut, scientist, and professor emeritus of astronomy at Mizzou, as she present “Exploring Space: Where Would We Be Without the Moon?” All ages are welcome, no science background needed. Hey, did you know May 6th was National Scrapbook Day? I sure didn’t. Well the Daniel Boone Public Library has you covered. They are putting on a Scrapbook Workshop for all who are interested. Sally Nusbaum will be showing you how to make mini scrapbooks. They can be used for photos, journaling, or any other way you like to store your precious memories. Life is tough at times. It can be overwhelming, stressful, and chaotic. It can be hard to keep track of everything and things can start to be missed. Well, the Daniel Boone Regional Library is here to help. On March 23rd, they are holding a Bullet journaling event from 6:30pm-8pm. They will discuss the process of bullet journaling and give you tips on how to get started. They will also supply you with a notebook and a few supplies to get start. What’s the best part about going to museum? Learning about the past? Maybe seeing artifacts from bygone eras? Both wrong. The best part is getting little souvenirs from the gift shop. And does the St. Louis Museum have the event for you. Going on March 18th from 9am to 3pm, the St. Louis Museum is having garage sale for all their close-out and clearance items. But it won’t just be their merchandise there, they have partnered with the St. Louis Zoo, Missouri History Museum, Endangered Wolf Center, Campbell House Museum, Cahokia Mounds, Eugene Field House Museum, and the St. Louis Opera Theater to bring you all their souvenirs. It’s Women’s History Month and the St. Louis Museum is putting on a celebration. On March 18th and 19th, the Museum is putting on events dedicated to women in the arts. They will start of with their yearly panel celebrating woman of color in the arts with the theme of landscapes. The panel will feature artists Allison L. Norfleet Bruenger, Sarah Sense, and Tiff J. Sutton, who will discuss their relationship with the environment and how it informs their practices. The event will be available in person but also will be livestreamed. They also have an event for the whole  family on March 19th. They will have hands-on art activities and special interactive components for kids within the galleries all focused on women artist.
