The 2020 Pulitzer Prize winners have been announced! Read a little about some of the winners and finalists. Award winner lists are a great way to beef up your TBR list. π
During the Great Depression a part of the Work Project Administration, called the Federal Project number One, employed artists to create posters. Many of them are in the Library of Congress. Atlas Obscura has put together several that promoted libraries at that time. They are quite striking. π
Seeing the incredible work and dedication of physicians and all healthcare workers fills me with gratitude. I have read a couple books written by physicians, and decided to see if there were more, and found this great list of books from Goodreads that are written by doctors. Book Riot has also released a list of books that shows the challenges doctors have to overcome in their work.
The grocery shortages have made me think about food shortages during the Great Depression and how that changed the way people ate. I came across this article about some recipes that became more commonplace during the depression. The creamed chip beef sounds pretty good. π
