Thanks to all who have nominated themselves to serve on one of the four library committees listed recently in News Notes. The membership rosters are looking pretty good, but we could use some self-nominations for the Preservation Committee. We have four outgoing members and could use another 2-3 replacements.
The Chancellor has authorized recruitment for the Librarian I positions in Technical Services-Cataloging (J. Davis) and Health Sciences Library-Information Services (A. McConnell) and the Librarian/Archivist position in Special Collections (formerly held by K. Carr).

The Web Advisory Committee is working on a redesign of the MU Libraries web gateway page. You can see a test page (that is still being revised) at http://mulibraries.missouri.edu/defaultSubject4.aspx

These changes were made primarily because the use of the “Information For You” links had declined. This redesign will help highlight those resources.
Due to the increased number of accidents, campus facilities will be closing the North Entrance from Monday, August 2nd through Friday, August 6th in order to repair the marble steps. Please contact Pat Jones in Security with any questions or concerns.
On Tuesday August 3rd from 10:30 a.m. -1:30 p.m., we invite all departments to come look over all used supplies and equipment in our surplus area. On Wednesday August 4th from 10:30 a.m. -1:30 p.m. all items departments cannot use will be available for all staff to take home for personal use. Personal items must be taken out of the surplus room by Wednesday at 1:30pm unless other arrangements are made with security. The surplus room is located on the ground floor at the bottom of the center stairwell. If you have any questions please contact Pat Jones in security.
