The University of Missouri Risk Management sent out the following information about workplace injuries and worker’s compensation.  If you are injured at work, please be sure to follow the steps below.  Please direct any questions to Ellis Security (882-4220) or Sheryl Cullina (882-9166).

1.Employee:  report work related injury immediately to your supervisor.  Failure to report may jeopardize your ability to receive workers’ compensation benefits.

2.Supervisors: direct employee to authorized medical care immediately if indicated. 

3.Supervisors:  complete the report of injury form within 24 hours of employee notice (http://www.umsystem.edu/ums/fa/management/risk/forms/)

Urgent Care has moved from its One Hospital Drive location to its new home at South Providence Medical Park on South Hampton Drive across from State Farm.  

MUPD will be delivering Active Shooter Training for MU Library staff on Wednesday, March 25, from 6-10pm. There will be both a classroom and an active part to the training. This session is limited to 25 people. Please contact Sheryl Cullina if you are interested in attending.

Mizzou Cares Crisis Resource Line has recently been created (882-3970).  By calling one number and listening to the prompts, you will be able to press the prompts you need such as the non-emergency lines for CPD and MU Police, the Counseling Center and the Employee Assistance Program,  the At-Risk Committee, the Title IX office, and Student Health.   Please note – this is simply a phone tree line that can help you get to the correct campus office.  If you need emergency assistance, call 911.

Please remember to complete both the Harassment and Mandated Reporter trainings. The deadline to complete the trainings has been extended to March 31, 2015.

If you have a student worker who, as part of their Library job, is producing work job that might be published (electronically or in print), please be sure to have them sign a FERPA release. This release allows the MU Libraries to publish student work – https://libraryguides.missouri.edu/ld.php?content_id=8018914. The release form is online in the Forms section of the staff webpage. Please contact Sheryl Cullina or Sheena Waggoner if you have any questions.

Please welcome Kathryn Wright to the MU Libraries.  Kathryn began her job as a part time Library Information Assistant in Shelving on January 26, 2015.

 

Jerri Eldridge will be retiring from the MU Libraries.  Her last day will be February 6, 2015.

Rebecca Schedler has announced her retirement.  Her last day with the MU Libraries will be February 27, 2015.

Darell Schmick has accepted a position of Research Librarian at the University of Utah Eccles Health Sciences Library. His last day is Tuesday, February 17^th.  We wish him well in his new position.  

Please wish Alan Jones well as he gets ready for retirement.  His last day at Ellis Library will be Thursday, January 22, 2015.
