Eat for Life- Offered Online
Healthy for Life’s regular 10 week program on creating a healthy relationship with your food, body, and mind is now a course you can take online in your own home. Video and audio components teach you the foundational mindfulness practices (meditation and yoga) and the BASICS of Mindful Eating. If you have a history of chronic dieting, have rigid rules about eating, or find yourself eating when you’re stressed, bored, or unhappy, this may be the program for you. Weight Watchers at Work
Weight Watchers is short TWO people to hold a class in Clark Hall, Room 542 from 12-1 p.m. on Wednesdays, starting May 12. If you are interested, please contact Lori Thunhost. Chancellor’s Walk
Join Healthy for Life on Thursday, May 20th beginning at 11:00am on the south steps to Jesse Hall. There will be free blood pressure screenings, Pedometer and Odometer sales and a power walk to the Katy Trail starting at noon. The walk will last approximately 30 minutes. There will also be an opportunity to sign up for more information on Healthy for Life programs. Everyone who signs up to receive more information will be eligible to win a Healthy for Life gift basket. Bring a friend!

Seeking Healthy Men
The Department of Nutrition and Exercise Physiology is seeking individuals for a study on how different types of weight-bearing exercise affect bone health. We are looking for healthy men, 25-60 years old who are currently participating in 4hr/wk of physical activity for the last 2 years and not currently participating in strength or plyometric (jumping) training . You will receive free and supervised resistance training or plyometric training, body composition testing, bone mineral density assessment and payment after completing the study. Congratulations to Mary Aycock, Anselm Huelsbergen, and Barb Jones on their promotions. Mary moves to Librarian II, Anselm to Archivist III, and Barb to Librarian IV. Their new titles are effective September 1, 2010.
In addition, we received word that Cynthia Bassett of the Law Library moves to Librarian II.

The State Historical Society will be closed to the public on May 18 and 19 due to a major move of the libraries.
Duties: Perform a variety of tasks associated with sorting incoming and outgoing mail. Operate various specialized equipment. Perform daily internal mail delivery to all departments within Ellis Library. Receive and help unload incoming supplies, materials, equipment, etc. Perform daily pickup of recycled paper throughout Ellis Library. Work primarily in and around the Ellis Library receiving room and dock area. Functional contacts include co-workers, other department employees, and University staff, students, and the public. Minimum Qualifications: Ability to read and write. One year driving experience. Possession of a valid state driver’s license.
Preferred Qualifications: Ability to work independently and under pressure. Must be able to lift items weighing up to 100 pounds or more; use a pallet jack and other equipment used to move supplies, boxes, etc. between buildings, among levels within a building, between departments. One year of related work experience. The ability to read and write and comprehend typical communications with supervisors. Demonstrated ability to work independently and with others and as a team. May use accessory equipment such as 2-wheel dollies, fork-lift and etc. in loading and unloading truck and associated duties. Maintain a working knowledge of current postal rules and regulations.
Our open board vacancies are as follows:
Vice President/President Elect (1): Assists the president in carrying out the work and direction of the staff association and automatically becomes the President the following year.
Secretary (1): Records and distributes the minutes taken at our board meetings.
Treasurer (1): Maintains all the financial records for MULSA; this includes keeping the books and writing the checks.
Courtesy (1): Extends congratulations and condolences to library employees with cards, gifts, and flowers.
MUSE Editors (2): Responsible for the publication of the library staff newsletter, The Muse.
Ellis Staff Lounge (1): Coordinates cleaning of the lounge with daily help from volunteers. This person also buys cleaning supplies and maintains the vending machine refunds.
Social (2): Organizes and coordinates MULSA’s social activities.
Book Sale / Store Coordinators (1): Helps to organize, promote, and preside over the ongoing book sale in the Ellis Library Copy Service room.
Community Service (1): Coordinates and informs the staff about our service projects. We have supported such groups as Mid-Missouri Food Bank and Second Chance Animal Shelter.
