“At the top of Ellis Library, sounds of recorded music serve as reminders of the past”
The Missourian, Dec. 28, 2011
Hello to Michael Wyss & Esther Schnase, new LIA’s in Access Services. Both begin their new jobs Jan. 3.
Michael is a former student assistant at the Veterinary Medical Library. Since then his job experience includes instructional television technician and screen printer.
Esther is moving up from her student assistant position in ILL-Borrowing. Esther’s work experience includes several years as a high school English teacher. Both Michael and Esther start on Jan. 3; Michael with Circulation and Esther with Reserve/Circulation.
As mentioned in News Notes 11/11/11, http://mulibraries.missouri.edu/newsnotes/?p=4129, SDC is sponsoring a two-part training series on group process methods. Part II begins Jan. 5 and will be conducted by Phil Shearrer, Debono Thinking Tools TM Consultant. Phil also works as a Leadership Development Specialist at MU’s Women and Children’s Hospital. There is no charge to the library for Phil’s presentations.
Phil’s sessions will be half-day skill-building workshops on how to facilitate different meeting types:
These sessions will be particularly useful for individuals who serve in leadership roles, e.g., committee chairs, supervisors. However, all library employees are invited to participate. Space is still available. RSVP’s are requested for head count purposes; contact Leo at AgnewL@missouri.edu. Release time is available with supervisor approval.
