NEW! Caught in the Act is Underway! January 17th – February 28th

Caught in the Act is now underway. 22 employees have been nominated from MU Campus for practicing Random Acts of Wellness. The winner from week 2 is Michelle Nutter who was nominated by Leigh Ann Clayton. Michelle will be receiving a prize of choice. Many employees are practicing random acts of wellness, like the examples listed below; so let us know who they are. Get in on the act!

NEW! Stay Strong Stay Healthy

Stay Strong, Stay Healthy
This eight week strength training program can get your fitness journey (re)started, right here on campus! Participants will be guided safely by a trained instructor through warm up, 8 muscle strengthening exercises and cool down. Geared toward older adults or sedentary middle-aged females who want to improve strength, balance and flexibility. All equipment provided. Advanced Stay Strong, Stay Healthy
This eight week advanced strength training program is for those who want to challenge themselves a bit more! In order to enroll in the Advanced program, you must have completed the basic Stay Strong, Stay Healthy program at least twice and/or have approval from the instructor. All equipment provided. As a Healthy for Life sponsored program, eligible employees can earn 100 points for completing the 8-week Stay Strong, Stay Healthy program. There are a maximum of 200 points possible for this category.


NEW! Physical Activity Classes on Campus
Did you know a variety of low-cost and free physical activity classes are offered on campus? View the calendar of events to find a class near you. Check out some new opportunities below:

Cardio & Strength Training

Time and Location: Come to the cardio class, the strength class, or both!

  • Cardio workout on Tuesdays, 5:00 – 5:50 pm at MUPC Gymnasium
  • Strength training on Wednesday, 5:00 – 5:50 pm at Cardiac Rehabilitation Center (must have employee access to CRC)

Cost: First class is $10. Buy 5 classes for $50 or 10 classes for $80. Bring a friend and your class is free! (Must have class punch card to obtain free class.) Cash or PayPal accepted.

MU EMPLOYEE BOOTCAMP

When: New 5-week session starts 2/6/17

  • Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, from 5:00 am – 6:00 am at the Human Performance Institute
  • Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, from 6:00 am – 7:00 am at the Human Performance Institute
  • Tuesday and Thursday

Cost: $100 per 5-week session; OR take advantage of a group discount rate of $75 per person per 5-week session for groups of 5 or more

Participants can attend any of the classes days/times listed. There is no limit to the number of classes a participant can attend during the 5-week session.

Eligible Faculty and Staff can earn up to 100 points for engaging in physical activity. Participation in this event must be self-reported in the Cerner Wellness Portal in the ‘Engage in Activity’ category to receive incentive points. Weight Watchers
The new Weight Watchers Beyond the Scale program helps you eat healthier, get active at your own pace, and discover new ways to define success. Enjoy the convenience of meeting on campus and get inspiration from the success of a Weight Watchers Leader and from your peers. Eligible employees can earn 100 points toward Tier 2 of the Wellness Incentive for attending three months of classes.
