At HSL, we are pleased that the National Library of Medicine has publicly announced the funding for the next five years of the National Network of Libraries of Medicine. The J. Otto Lottes Health Sciences Library is a Resource Library in the Network, and is a participating “partner" in network activities for this contract. Barb Jones, Coordinator for the State of Missouri, is funded by this sub-contract. Her work consists of providing outreach to hospitals, schools, clinics, health departments, and health-related organizations to make them aware of health-related information resources and services. She also advocates for health sciences libraries. She supports return-on-investment activities and works to promote understanding of how libraries contribute to the quality of health professionals' education and patient care. We are proud of Barb’s work, and are glad to see that it will continue. The new contract begins on May 1, 2016.
