Act Healthy is a research study for MU employees sponsored by Healthy for Life: T.E. Atkins UM Wellness Program. Research participants will be eligible to receive a total of $40 in gift cards. Manage or prevent chronic illness, pain, anxiety, depression–register now for the stress-reduction class
The wellness program offers eight-week Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction classes at minimal cost to employees looking to manage today’s busy lifestyles in a healthy way. You will learn mindfulness meditation, yoga, and body scan as well as important information about stress, communication, and wellness.
- Orientation: Wednesday, June 5 (Memorial Union) at 5:00 p.m.
- Class: Wednesdays (June 12-July 31) 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. *June 26 class will be from 6-8 p.m.
- Retreat: Saturday, July 20 (9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.)
- Cost: $40 for faculty, staff, retirees and spouses/partners. ($20 refunded with full participation)

Register for Summer Eat for Life Online Course
Discover the benefits of an innovative approach to weight management through the Eat for Life course. This 10-week program uses mind-body practices (meditation and yoga), mindful and intuitive eating, skills training, and group support to guide you in making lifestyle changes. If you have a history of chronic dieting, have rigid “healthy” rules about eating, or find yourself eating when you’re stressed, bored, or unhappy, this may be the program for you.
- Online Orientation: week of May 31
- Online Class: week of June 7 – week August 9
- Cost: $50 for faculty, staff and family members ($25 rebated with full participation); $180 for community members

Mark your calendars now for the Show-Me State Games, an Olympic-style sports festival! Congratulations to Wellness Ambassador Kate Walker for being selected to be a torch-bearer at the Opening Ceremonies on July 19th at 7 p.m. at Mizzou Arena. Kate was chosen as she was an Athlete of the Year in 2012.
