Direct Promotion Opportunity – Library Information Specialist I

Direct Promotion Opportunity – Library Information Specialist I, Access Services-UMLD
MU Policy HR 111 permits the filling of vacancies directly, i.e., in-house, for classified staff positions, for job titles that are not considered underutilized for women and minorities. The Library Information Assistant and Specialist title series are not underutilized at MU.

Access Services has a Library Information Specialist I position that will become vacant and library Administration has approved the request to utilize the Direct Promotion process. The job announcement follows, as does information on the application process.

The job opening is being posted internally via the campus’ Direct Promotion process, meaning the job is distributed only to MU Library employees and only library employees may apply. “Direct Promotion” is campus HR’s terminology for this process but anyone within the library who believes s/he is qualified can apply, even if the result were a lateral transfer.

This internal posting will be in effect for five (5) standard work days. If no suitable candidates are indentified, the position will move to normal posting status with campus HR, meaning anyone outside of the library can apply.
