Part 1 provides a wealth of information on the various tribes visited in New York, Pennsylvania, and Ohio among the Native American tribes there, primarily the Delawares, Nautikokes, and Shawanese. The second part details the missionary work of the United Brethren from 1735-87 among the North American Indians. The book draws on the accounts of missionaries Gottlieb Spangenburg and David Zeisberger, and includes details of the massacres at Gnadenhutten and Salem. |
