Requesting Policies and Procedures for Extension Faculty

MU Libraries will mail their books to MU Extension Faculty residing in the United States. Faculty not residing in the United States may be eligible for borrowing privileges at local libraries. We do not ship items overseas.

Items Not Available For Request:

  • Books from Special Collections
  • Reference materials  (e.g., REF-R location codes)
  • Entire magazine/journal volumes or individual current issues
  • A/V material (microfiche, film)
    • Computer disks
    • CD-ROMs
  • Resources on Reserve for courses during the semester that they are on Reserve
  • Equipment

Visiting other MOBIUS libraries
MU faculty, students and staff who are in good standing (no billed books or unpaid fines or blocks on their circulation record) may go to any other MOBIUS library and present their MU ID card and borrow books held in those libraries, if they are “Available” in the MOBIUS catalog.

Greater Western Library Alliance (GWLA) reciprocal circulation program
Image links to more info on the the GWLA The GWLA Reciprocal Circulation Agreement is a program for faculty, staff and students of participating GWLA institutions to borrow library materials on site while visiting other, cooperating, member libraries.

 

OCLC reciprocal borrower card
Image links to info on the OCLC reciprocal borrower's card MU Faculty members who are traveling to other research libraries that are members of the Association of Research Libraries (ARL) who are also OCLC (Online Computer Library Center, Inc.) members may be eligible for a Reciprocal Faculty Borrower Card.

Photo of visiting scholars International Student & Scholar Services have provided a form letter approved by the Libraries. Departments must use this form letter when requesting privileges for the scholar.
