LITERATURE REVIEW & BEYOND: TIPS AND TRICKS FOR RESEARCH — Learn some of the more sophsticated features of database searching to yield the results you want.  Using a variety of databases, we’ll focus on practical techniques that can save you time and effort.

CREATE BIBLIOGRAPHIES WITH ZOTEROZotero is a simple, open source tool for organizing, managing, and formatting bibliographic citiations. Learn to extract citations from PDFs and web pages at the click of a button, and create in-text references and bibliographies.

PUBMED FOR RESEARCHERS IN THE LIFE SCIENCES PubMed is the primary journal database for clinical and medical reserch, but it can also be a useful resource for biology and other research areas relating to the life sciences.  This workshop will cover the basics of searching PubMed for the non clinician.

DEMYSTIFYING GOVERNMENT FOR THE SOCIAL SCIENCES Government is a key player in education, social work, urban planning, rural sociology, race & gender studies, mental health and public policy.  This session will show you how to find and understand laws concerning your area of study, get analysis on the efficacy of any government program, and reserch the availability of government funding for projects.

SUPERCHARGE YOUR ZOTERO LIBRARY USING PAPER MACHINES Paper Machines is a cutting edge digital humanities toolbox that allows you to analyze large text sets in new ways, including word clouds, phrase maps, topic modeling and more.  Paper Machines is a free, open source extension for Zotero bibliographic management software.
