Find Genealogical Materials

• MU Libraries does not specifically collect in the area of genealogy, but it does have a Government Information collection with scattered information about people who lived in the United States throughout history.  See our guide Genealogical Research in Government Publications for links and tips.
• There may be titles of interest in the general library collection.  Check the MERLIN Catalog to see what is available.
• There may be resources of interest at the University Archives if a family member attended or worked at the University of Missouri-Columbia.
• The State Historical Society of Missouri, located at 605 Elm Street, has an extensive collection of genealogical materials including Missouri newspapers.  Check out their genealogy guides.
