Collection Management
University Libraries — Collection Management
The University Libraries include Ellis Library (the main library on campus), Health Sciences, Veterinary Medical, Geology, Engineering, Math, Journalism, Missourian Newspaper, and University Archives, as well as two off-site storage facilities known as the UM Libraries Depositories (UMLD). Space limitations require that we make decisions to ensure space for new collections and to help us make the most effective use of our current collections and spaces. Members of the University community, including faculty, staff, and students are encouraged to provide input on current collection management projects.
Off-Site Storage – Duplicate Volumes Project Due to space limitations, the libraries plan to withdraw duplicate books and serials in our second off-site storage facility. The following is a list of the duplicates at this facility. These duplicates are identified as exact copies, according to library standards, of already held materials on the University of Missouri (Columbia only) campus. To provide feedback:
- Review the list of duplicates.
- Record the Unique Identifier (UI) in the first column for any titles that you would like us to consider retaining as a duplicate volume.
- Share your list of Unique Identifiers by filling out the survey. The survey will allow you to type in a list or upload a file with your list.
- The deadline for review is May 31, 2017.
- Note: “Bound with Titles” listed on the second tab are separate titles bound together.
