Dear University of Missouri Students, Faculty, and Staff,

Summer at the Mizzou Libraries is a season of transformation and opportunity. While campus may feel a bit quieter, our libraries are buzzing with activity behind the scenes. This is the time when we take on projects that enhance your experience – Walls are being refreshed with new paint, collections are being reorganized, and we’re excited to unveil a new look for Discover@MU, our library search tool.

Even as the academic pace shifts, research at Mizzou continues to thrive throughout the summer. Libraries remain a vital partner in that work. Whether you’re diving into a new project, preparing for fall courses, or continuing your scholarship, our librarians and resources are here to support you every step of the way.

Summer is also a wonderful time to explore some of the University’s most distinctive treasures. I encourage you to visit Special Collections, the Cast Gallery, or the Museum of Art and Archeology and the Museum of Anthropology located on the lower level of Ellis Library. These spaces offer a unique glimpse into the depth and richness of our collections – and they’re open to all.

Thank you for being part of the Mizzou community. Whether you’re on campus or working remotely this summer, know that the Mizzou Libraries are here for you. We’re building, improving, and preparing for an exciting year ahead – and we can’t wait to share it with you.

Warm Regards,

Kara Whatley
