About Me
I’m a historian who specialized in medieval Scottish history at the University of Guelph, where my dissertation focused on the representation of King Malcolm III in medieval Scottish historical narratives. After my PhD, I worked for several Canadian universities in writing services and academic publishing, before relocating to the United States to work and to complete an MLIS at Simmons University. My professional journey has included roles as varied as fashion design adjunct professor, curator of a rare book museum, and higher education administration. At MU, my role consists of providing strategic direction, management, and support to the Library’s Special Collections. I collaborate closely with faculty, students, and other librarians to develop our special collections; provide primary source instruction for undergraduate and graduate courses; digitize collections for increased access; collaborate on projects with other units; support researchers’ needs; and preserve our collections for posterity.
