Children in the Civil War Introduction
Introduction
When we look for resources while we research about the Civil War, we would almost, if not always, choose to look for sources from the soldiers that fought in the war or the civilians that lived in towns that were involved in the war. While these sources are very important, we overlook one major group: the children.
This exhibit will explore many children's experience before and during the war and also some adult's experience of the children around them.
Some things to think about while reading this exhibit are:
Why are sources from adults more used then ones from children?
If more children knew how to read and write, would there be more written documents of events from the Civil War?
