{"id":9936,"date":"2016-08-05T18:07:51","date_gmt":"2016-08-05T18:07:51","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/library.missouri.edu\/newsnotes\/?p=9936"},"modified":"2016-08-05T18:07:51","modified_gmt":"2016-08-05T18:07:51","slug":"policy-no-63-ellis-library-food-and-drink","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/library.missouri.edu\/newsnotes\/2016\/08\/05\/policy-no-63-ellis-library-food-and-drink\/","title":{"rendered":"Policy No. 63: Ellis Library Food and Drink"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\n\tApproved by LMT on July 26, 2016\n<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n\t\tScope of Policy<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n\t\t\t\tThis policy establishes rules for consuming food and drink in Ellis Library.\n\t\t\t<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>\n\t\tGoals and Purpose<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n\t\t\t\tThe food and drink policy is intended to help the Libraries maintain a pleasant environment conducive to study and research, while preserving our collections, equipment, and furnishings.\n\t\t\t<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>\n\t\tFood and Drink Allowed in Ellis Library<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n\t\t\t\tThe following food &amp; drink types are allowed in most areas, unless signage indicates otherwise:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n\t\t\t\t\t\tDry, non-perishable snacks such as those found in vending machines (crackers, chips, nuts, etc.)\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\t\t\t\t\tNon-alcoholic drinks in covered containers\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\t\t\tMeals and other types of food may be consumed in the BookMark Caf&eacute; and ground floor seating area near the elevators.\n\t\t\t<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\t\t\tAll food deliveries must be received outside of the library.\n\t\t\t<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\t\t\tPlease report all accidental spills to a service desk as soon as noticed so that they can be addressed.\n\t\t\t<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\t\t\tUsers who fail to abide by the policy will be asked to relocate to an appropriate space or to leave the library.\n\t\t\t<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>\n\t\tRestricted Food and Drink Spaces in Ellis Library<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n\t\t\t\tExamples of spaces that are more restrictive include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n\t\t\t\t\t\tSpecial Collections Areas\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\t\t\t\t\tEllis Reading Rooms restricted to covered drinks only to honor quiet policy\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>\n\t\tAlcohol and Tobacco<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n\t\t\t\tIn accordance with University regulation, no alcohol or tobacco products are permitted in the Libraries.\n\t\t\t<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>\n\t\tExceptions to the Policy<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n\t\t\t\tScheduled events and activities that include food and\/or drink must be approved by Library Administration.\n\t\t\t<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Approved by LMT on July 26, 2016 Scope of Policy This policy establishes rules for consuming food and drink in Ellis Library.
