Deb Ward attended a recent session in which Mitch Wasden, MUHC CEO, reported on the &quot;Culture of Yes&quot; initiative of University of Missouri Health Care.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n\t\t\t\t\t\tThe &quot;Culture of Yes&rdquo; is a positive approach to meeting the expectations of patients, and it covers the concepts of care, deliver, innovate, and serve.\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\t\t\t\t\tThe hospital units have had some competitions on how to implement the culture\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\t\t\t\t\tThere is material on Mitch Wasden&rsquo;s blog about it: &nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/muhcceoblog.missouri.edu\/tag\/culture-of-yes\/\">http:\/\/muhcceoblog.missouri.edu\/tag\/culture-of-yes\/<\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\t\t\t\t\tThere is some talk of extending the &ldquo;Culture of Yes&rsquo; to the entire university\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\t\t\tFundraising continues to be an important topic this year, as the Development Office ramps up the capital campaign launched in October, 2015.\n\t\t\t<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>\n\t&nbsp;\n<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li value=\"NaN\">\n\t\tDepartmental Reports:\n\t<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>\n\t&nbsp;\n<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:.25in\">\n\t<strong>Digital Services Report to Library Assembly<\/strong> (Adrienne Arden)\n<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:.25in\">\n\tDigital Services staff has spent considerable time this past month on activities related migrating materials to the now &ldquo;MU Digital Library&rdquo;.&nbsp;\n<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:.25in\">\n\tBy invitation Felicity attended the RAIS meeting this month to discuss the work of the Digital Services department.&nbsp;\n<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:.25in\">\n\tIn collaboration with Kelli Hansen of Special Collections, on February 15, our department hosted an Early American Literature class of about 11 students who are working on transcribing a handwritten manuscript that is in Special Collections.&nbsp; The digitized book and transcript will be available in the MU Digital Library.&nbsp; The class came to see and hear about our operation and were quite interested in our scanning and editing process.&nbsp;\n<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:.25in\">\n\t&nbsp;\n<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:.25in\">\n\t<strong>Health Sciences &amp; We are offering drop in sessions to provide assistance with PowerPoint for creating posters.\n<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:.25in\">\n\t^&nbsp;&nbsp; We currently have a practicum student.\n<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:.25in\">\n\t&nbsp;\n<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:.25in\">\n\t<strong>Vet<\/strong>\n<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n\t\tIn honor of Valentine&rsquo;s Day, Sue Giger put together a great veterinary cardiology book display. The building is finally beginning to go up, after months of utility and foundation work. We&rsquo;ve been told that the third floor should be up by around the end of April. The company is working on a mock-up of the exterior finishes that will be erected close to the Military Science Building, and groups will be let into the area to see the finishes when they are ready. The planners are working on a summer timeline that will determine when the work will be done to demolish the stairway that is outside of the HSL entrance.
