The display would feature the flags of the 193 countries in the UN. They currently recommend 202 Ellis or the Administrative Hallway (area between 104 and Circulation).&nbsp; They feel the display would:\n<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n\t\tShowcase MU&rsquo;s pride of its international community.\n\t<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\tMake international students feel welcome.\n\t<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\n\tLMT thanked Nathan for his presentation.&nbsp; They will consider and get back to him.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tInformation ITEM: Jim presented the MU Libraries Student Library Fee Proposal at the Undergraduate Deans Meeting convened by Vice Provost Jim Spain, Monday, May 11<sup>th<\/sup>.&nbsp; Jim felt it went well. He made a general offer to present at any school\/college. Most Deans knew a little about the issue and were very interested to know how the idea was being received by the students.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tInformation ITEM: Jim hopes to focus the MU Administration on the need for more off-site storage.\n<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n\t\tAll plans to repurpose Library space start with lessening the footprint of the onsite collection\n\t<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\tJim hopes the university will invest in the UMLD expansion.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n\t\t\t\tJim to follow up with Gary Ward.\n\t\t\t<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\t\t\tThere is hope that the recent willingness of the Library to be flexible about space will highlight the need for more storage.\n\t\t\t<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\n\tInformation ITEM: Deb Ward announced that the School of Medicine expansion is falling in place. There may be a chance for the school of medicine to help fund a couple Library positions in support of the expansion. If they can fund a HSL Clinical Librarian position through the med school expansion, it may affect the positions portion of the student fee proposal.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tInformation ITEM: Announcements:\n<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n\t\tHealth Sciences Library: the National Library of Medicine has announced the inclusion of an Information Services supplement for NIH funded research.\n\t<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\tACTS: to deal with budget restraints, On Demand Acquisition will be suspended until the new budget year.&nbsp; (This has grown so we may hear about it, but this is all fallout from the SWETS bankruptcy.)\n\t<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\tSCARAB &ndash; Special Collections continues to battle space issues.&nbsp;\n\t<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Information ITEM: Nathan Willet, From MSA, presented an MSA proposal to install a flag display in Ellis Library.
