Access, Collections, and Technical Service Division<\/p>\n<p><strong>Location:<\/strong> MU Libraries<\/p>\n<p><strong>FLSA Classification:<\/strong> Non-exempt \/ Exempt<\/p>\n<p><strong>Typical schedule:<\/strong> 40 hours\/wk; M-F, between 7:00 a.m.\u20136:00 p.m.; occasional need to adjust schedule to accommodate needs of the department.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Reports to: <\/strong>Head, Catalog Department<\/p>\n<p><strong>Rate of Pay: <\/strong>$12.55<\/p>\n<p><strong>Summary Description <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Primary responsibilities include 1) providing bibliographic control and access to locally digitized materials and maps through original and copy cataloging and bibliographic record enhancements in WorldCat, the local catalog, and the digital repositories at the University of Missouri; and 2) overseeing the cataloging portion of the workflow for materials being digitized.\u00a0 Secondary assignments include additional database enhancement and correction projects.<\/p>\n<p>Assignments will require performance of responsible and varied tasks of a considerably complex nature with broadly defined responsibilities, and of duties requiring a high level of decision-making, judgment, and independence.\u00a0 A broad understanding of the context within which the work is performed is required.\u00a0 Work will be performed independently and collaboratively, with general guidance and periodic reviews.\u00a0 Assignments may include the supervision of student assistants.<\/p>\n<p><strong> <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Competency expectations<\/strong><br \/>\nSuccess in the job will be demonstrated by the following competencies:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Communication<\/strong>:\u00a0 Effectively conveys (speaks and\/or writes) and receives ideas, information and direction (both oral and written).\u00a0\u00a0 Seeks to clarify and confirm understanding if any instructions or terms are unfamiliar or vague.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Confidentiality:<\/strong> Handles all confidential information with appropriate discretion.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Customer Focus:<\/strong> Understands and responds to customer needs (both internal and external);
