{"id":5568,"date":"2012-10-17T13:07:28","date_gmt":"2012-10-17T19:07:28","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mulibraries.missouri.edu\/newsnotes\/?p=5568"},"modified":"2012-10-17T13:07:28","modified_gmt":"2012-10-17T19:07:28","slug":"inclement-weather-campus-closure-policies","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/library.missouri.edu\/newsnotes\/2012\/10\/17\/inclement-weather-campus-closure-policies\/","title":{"rendered":"Inclement Weather &#8211; Campus Closure Policies"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In anticipation of winter weather and in preparation for any other campus emergencies, the <strong>Business Policy and Procedure Manual 1:010 and UM Human Resources Policy Manual HR217 <\/strong>outline campus closure and pay procedures for University of Missouri.\u00a0 These policies permit two types of campus closures:\u00a0\u00a0<strong>full closure or partial closure<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The policies can be accessed by following the below links:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/bppm.missouri.edu\/chapter1\/1_010.html\">http:\/\/bppm.missouri.edu\/chapter1\/1_010.html<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.umsystem.edu\/ums\/departments\/hr\/manual\/217.shtml\">http:\/\/www.umsystem.edu\/ums\/departments\/hr\/manual\/217.shtml<\/a><\/p>\n<p>(<em>Please note:\u00a0These policies do not apply to staff at MU Health Care)<\/em><\/p>\n<p>As a major research campus that has extensive 24\/7 operations, MU will not typically close.\u00a0 Should the Chancellor designate a <strong>partial campus closure<\/strong> (e.g., classes are cancelled but many operations remain open), the following pay procedures for staff employees will apply:<em> <\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Employees <strong>who do not report      to work<\/strong> may cover the absence(s) with paid time off (vacation or      personal days) as appropriate.<\/li>\n<li>Employees      <strong>who are able to report to work<\/strong> will receive straight pay.
