The Events Team will meet on the 3rd Thursday of every month. If you are your group is interested in putting on a Libraries-sponsored event, please fill out<a href=\"http:\/\/mulibraries.missouri.edu\/staff\/Libraries%20Event%20Checklist_final.doc\"> this form<\/a> and contact Shannon Cary about attending an Events Team meeting to discuss the event.<\/p>\n<p><strong><br \/>\nMission<\/strong><br \/>\nThe purpose of the team\u00a0is to assist staff with planning library-related events and to create a continuing long-range plan of events and exhibitions that emphasizes its position as the heart of the campus.\u00a0 The objectives are to facilitate the production of events and development of a schedule that provides time to effectively promote and seek funding as needed, as well as oversee other budget and security concerns.<\/p>\n<p>A standing committee of those people directly connected to events and exhibits planning will meet initially once a month with the possibility of meeting less frequently once long-range planning is in place.\u00a0 Other members of the Library staff and those connected to singular events occurring in or sponsored by the Library will be asked to present an event\/exhibit plan to the team.\u00a0 The team will offer suggestions and discuss any potential problems or areas of concern, but will not act as an approval board.\u00a0 Minutes to the meeting will be supplied to the Executive Director of the Libraries who has ultimate approval.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Team:<\/strong><br \/>\nCommunications: Shannon Cary<\/p>\n<p>Grant writer\/events: Chris Montgomery<\/p>\n<p>Travel\/hotel arrangements: Mark Ellis<\/p>\n<p>Security and facilities: Pat Jones, Julie Rogers<\/p>\n<p>IT and AV: Ernest Shaw<\/p>\n<p>Development event planning: Sheila Voss<\/p>\n<p>Exhibits: Kelli Hanson, Charlotte Mustain<\/p>\n<p>Faculty Lecture: Brenda Graves-Blevins<\/p>\n<p>Budget: Ellen Blair, Jessi Menold<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In order to formalize and better organize the processes and procedures of putting on external events at MU Libraries, the Events Team has been formed.
