{"id":4171,"date":"2011-11-17T16:48:30","date_gmt":"2011-11-17T22:48:30","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mulibraries.missouri.edu\/newsnotes\/?p=4171"},"modified":"2011-11-17T16:48:30","modified_gmt":"2011-11-17T22:48:30","slug":"winter-preparations","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/library.missouri.edu\/newsnotes\/2011\/11\/17\/winter-preparations\/","title":{"rendered":"Winter Preparations"},"content":{"rendered":"<ul>\n<li>Campus Facilities has a Winter Management Plan.\u00a0 It is their job to organize and implement this plan, especially during severe weather situations.<\/li>\n<li>Campus Facilities coordinates with other departments on campus, the City of Columbia, MoDot, and Boone County<\/li>\n<li>Note: only the Chancellor or Provost can cancel classes.\u00a0 Even when classes are canceled, other departments and activities are\/will stay open during regular business hours.<\/li>\n<li>Campus Facilities does have set priorities for snow removal.\u00a0 This can be viewed at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cf.missouri.edu\/ls\/weathermgmt\/index.html\">http:\/\/www.cf.missouri.edu\/ls\/weathermgmt\/index.html<\/a> .\u00a0 Priorities include:<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ol>\n<li>University Hospital &amp; Clinics drives and roadways, including:\n<ol>\n<li> i.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Emergency room entries and driveways<\/li>\n<li> ii.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Helipad and access walks<\/li>\n<li> iii.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Dean&#8217;s Drive and Loading Dock Drive<\/li>\n<li> i.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Major thoroughfares<\/li>\n<li> ii.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Minor thoroughfares<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ol>\n<li>\n<ol>\n<li>Campus       building entrances and steps<\/li>\n<li>Disabled       parking areas and shuttle-bus shelters in parking lots SG4, AV14, RP10       and CG1<\/li>\n<li>Campus       sidewalks<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ol>\n<li>\n<ol>\n<li>Delivery       and unloading zones<\/li>\n<li>University-owned       thoroughfares, as conditions require<\/li>\n<li>Parking       lots, when accumulation is greater than 3 inches<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>The MU Recreation Trail will not be cleared after a winter weather event.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Campus Facilities prioritizes sidewalks by estimated usage<\/li>\n<li>Campus Facilities is utilizing contractors to help clean parking lots, which will help reduce time to get them cleared<\/li>\n<li>If you have any questions or problems, please contact <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cf.missouri.edu:9080\/index.html\">Campus Facilities Customer Service<\/a> Center at 882-8211<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Campus Facilities has a Winter Management Plan.\u00a0 It is their job to organize and implement this plan, especially during severe weather situations.
