Two great sources of information for Library of Congress Subject Headings (LCSH) can be found online.\u00a0 Both are based on information from the LCSH authority files maintained by the Library of Congress.<\/p>\n
1.) <\/strong>\u201cid.loc.gov<\/strong>\u201d is maintained by the Library of Congress.\u00a0 It is the Library of Congress\u2019 foray into open and shareable authority data.<\/p>\n URL:<\/strong> http:\/\/id.loc.gov<\/a><\/p>\n Sample record:<\/strong> Online chat groups:\u00a0 http:\/\/id.loc.gov\/authorities\/subjects\/sh97004058.html<\/a><\/p>\n Features:<\/strong> Scope note at top of record (when available), list of variants terms, and lists of broader, narrower, and related terms.\u00a0 A great feature is that the broader, narrower, and related terms are hyperlinked to the records for those terms.
